Psalm 91 In Times of Trouble
- 1He
that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under
the shadow of the Almighty.
2I will say of the LORD, He is my
refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
- Jesus Christ truly did dwell in the most
secret place of the most high and under the shadow of the al mighty.
Jesus Lived in absolute unbroken fellowship with God, his father.
Jesus Christ never acted upon his on self will. Christ only did the
things which God directed him to do. Christ was a perfect God and a
perfect man and completely depended on God. Christ could look up and
say he is my refuge and my fortress my God in him will I trust. We
that have been saved should strive to be no different then Christ.
- Our Life is precious to God, he will deliver
us from the snare of the bird trapper which is Satan that is always
plotting and trying to trap you, anyway that he can. Satan will do all
that he can to discourage you. God can and will deliver us from these
hidden dangers if we ask him.
- God is both shelter and refuge for the
believer. Gods tender love and personal care is like a mother with her
young. She would give her life to protect her child. God gave us his
son Jesus Christ, He gave us his all. God is our protection and his
promises are sure and what he has said in his word he will fulfill.
God is our shield and our buckler.
- We have the freedom from fear if we know him.
We can lie down at night and not worry if tomorrow comes for we know
what lies ahead. Be afraid of the one who can take both body and soul.
We can also be not afraid of what tomorrow could bring arrows that
flies by the day, which may also be missiles or bombs; we do not have
assurance of tomorrow. If you are saved you have the assurance of
eternal life in heaven and the non believer has the assurance of
eternal like in hell.
- Disease thrives in darkness, moral evil also
breads in the night darkness.
- The saved even has the assurance of safety
during a massacre. Even where slaughter seems to be on a wholesale
basis. Look at Iraq, suicide bombers just walk into a public place and
explode there bombs. We that are believers in the Lord are absolutely
safe and free from harm.
- The wicked will not escape there
punishment.
- We that have made Jesus Christ our Lord and
Savior and our refuge have the assurance from calamity.
- God will protect us from all evil and from
all plagues that passes by us
- God will give us angles to watch over us and
to keep us in the ways of the Lord.
- Believers are not to act on there on will if
they do they will not have the promise of protection from God. Read
Luke 4:10-11
- Here this verse describes Satan as a lion
which is loud, horridness, a persecutor and a destroyer. The Holy
Spirit has giving us strength to put him under our foot.
- Jesus Knew God and God Knew Jesus and his
spotless life here on earth and God did deliver him and set Christ on
high, on the right hand of the father.
- Jesus Christ Suffered for our sins. Christ
called upon God and God answered him and God was with him in time of
trouble and God delivered him and honors Him. Call upon the Lord in
your time of need, God hears our prayers and will be with us in our
time of need.
- In this present time Christ is sitting on the
right hand of his father for eternity and waiting upon the coming of
his kingdom.
- Christ knew that the Jews could not harm him
until his work here on earth was done. The same applies to the true
believer today. He is kept by the power of God through faith. Those
that trust in the Lord are sure of his protection and claim the
promise and rely on it. So when it seems you cant make it remember who
you are and the one that is able to deliver all
things.
Psalm 118:5-6
5
I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set
me in a large place.
6
The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?
Luke 8:22-25
22Now it
came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his
disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of
the lake. And they launched forth.
23But as
they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the
lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.
24And they
came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he
arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they
ceased, and there was a calm.
25And he
said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered,
saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth
even the winds and water, and they obey him. |
