                                           Riches

1.      God was warning us here how wealth can overcome us and cause sin to enter in. The reason it is so much harder for the rich to receive Christ is because of there unfaithful stewardship, covetousness, selfishness, unfair practice, seeking security of things of the world causing them to sin against god.  LUKE 6 19-28

2.      James was saying here that your richest goods where ruined. Soon we will die and stand before God to account for our lives here. All the riches we have laid up here will remain here, these riches we laid up here will be left behind and someone else will be in control of your wealth. Christ warns us not to lay up riches here on earth , but to lay up riches in Heaven.  JEREMIAH 17: 11As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool.

3.      When gold and silver is put up and stored it will tarnish and become less valuable because of its unused condition. God want us to be faithful and to use what he has entrusted us too and to multiply and give unto the needy and the poor. It is sinful to let greed and to lust after the things of the world that we really do not need.   ROMANS 2   5But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

4.      God is warning us here through James it was also a sin to hold out on wages earned by the people who the rich employed to harvest the crops or whatever the job my be. The Lord heard the cries of the labors. The bible condemns the hoarding of wealth and the acquisition of wealth by dishonest means. Cheating, falsifying, and cheating on measurements and weights. Bible does not say it is a sin to gain wealth and to be wealthy. People make it a sin when it interferes with there relationship with God.

5.      Here James denounces the luxurious living of the rich. Having the best of the best that this world has to offer. Never thinking of the poor or the needy and the starving around the world. The sin of riches has taking over there lives.

6.      Here James gives the last charge to the rich. The rich had condemned and murdered the just. They condemned Jesus Christ and he died or they murdered him by hanging him upon the cross, thinking only of themselves. LUKE 18 18-29    GENESIS 13 1-6

7.      James has now turned his attention to the believers and how important it is to have patience. The farmer does not reap from a seed that he plants in the same day, but believes and takes care of the seed and it grows and then comes the reward. So shall this be with the coming of Jesus Christ, stand strong and be patience on the Lord.  What better way to welcome the coming of our savior, to be reading or praying or leading a lost soul to Christ. To be about the Lords work on the day of his return.

8.      All the wrongs of this earth will be made right when the lord returns. Be patience like the farmer and let us establish or hearts with certainty of the Lords coming.

9.      During persecution and distress and trails do not grumble or turn against your brother or your neighbor and be strong and do not judge anyone. For soon you will facing the judgment seat of Christ giving a account of your life, so do not judge less we be judged.

10.  Prophets before James had suffered for the teaching and there steadfastness but where patience and endured  and stood on the word of the lord

11.  Job was a great example of a man that had patience. No other man on earth suffered so great a loss in such a short time here on earth. Job stood on Gods word and was Patience and in the end of his sufferings God gave Job twice as much as he had before. Wait upon the Lord in due time your reward will come.

12.  Impatience can sometime lead us to swearing or cursing. Use of the Lords name other then worship is forbidding. Answer yes for yes and no for no. Let not yourself fall into judgment.

13.  When times get hard or sickness comes upon you or a family member be Patience and Pray. In times like these we need to pray be patience and thank our Lord and we should see or Lord as the first great cause in our life’s and give him thanks in these time. It is our own defeat that sometime gets the best of us. God is always just a prayer away and is waiting for us to reach out and ask for his help.

14.  -18 Call for the elders and make a true confession unto the Lord. Sometimes a sin can bring sickness upon us. Confess your trespasses to one another and pray for one another that you might be healed. Prayer can accomplish many Great things. But also be patience and continue Praying to you reach God and your prayer is answered and never doubt the Lord.
